AN AWARD-winning pub company has announced it will be opening a new boutique hotel in Shepherd’s Bush.

The new hotel at the Princess Victoria pub is the second boutique hotel from Three Cheers Pub Co.

The company, founded by Tom Peake, Mark Reynolds and Nick Fox, is opening the new five bedroom hotel on 9th June to coincide with World Gin Day.

Each of the individually-designed rooms is named after a famous gin cocktail – The Negroni, Bramble, Vesper, Gibson and Bronx – while the pub itself offers a choice of over 100 gins.

The Princess Victoria is Three Cheers Co’s newest pub, joining a portfolio of seven other pubs in locations around Clapham, Balham, West Dulwich, Battersea, and Kennington which is home to their first boutique hotel the Tommyfield.

STAYCITY’s brand new premium aparthotel has been officially opened in central London.

The aparthotel at the Strand, close to Covent Garden, is the first in Dublin-based Staycity’s new luxury brand called Wilde.

Drawing inspiration from the life of famed Irish poet and playwright Oscar Wilde, who is memorialised in a sculpture just a short walk away, the Wilde Aparthotel by Staycity has 106 quirky rooms with imaginative design touches.

Staycity CEO Tom Walsh was by joined by Oscar Wilde’s only grandson, Merlin Holland, for the cutting of the ribbon at yesterday’s official opening ceremony.

Future aparthotels under the Wilde brand are already planned by Staycity in Edinburgh, Berlin and Manchester.

Hotel Indigo has opened its latest hotel in a Grade II listed building in Durham city centre.

The new 83 bedroom hotel has been created at the Old Shire Hall building following a £15 million redevelopment.

The striking red brick building was originally the headquarters of Durham County Council has more recently has been used as office space by Durham University.

Built in the late 19th century and designed by architects H. Barnes and F.E. Coates, the building is just a stone’s throw from Durham Cathedral and Castle which make up the city’s UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The cathedral, castle and university are all alluded to in the new hotel’s 83 boutique bedrooms which feature ornate details throughout the three distinct room types, from academia-inspired featuring the University’s official colour, purple, through to grand bedrooms with a sumptuous feel.
