Former convent in Woodchester on sale for £4 million
A historic Grade II listed former convent-turned-hotel and music venue in the South Cotswolds has gone on sale.
The 17th century covent in Woodchester, Gloucestershire, has 14 bedrooms but is being sold with planning permission for an additional thirty rooms to be added.
Savills and Colston & Colston, on behalf of the joint receivers, Damian Webb and Phillip Rodney Sykes of RSM Restructuring Advisory LLP, have brought the hotel to market with an asking price of £4 million.
Martin Rogers, head of UK hotel transactions at Savills, comments: “This former convent is steeped in history and provides a fantastic opportunity to create a striking hotel in an area of the UK which is very popular with tourists. The existing consent provides scope for developing the hotel business, while the property could also suit an alternative use, subject to securing planning permission.”
The convent is on a 12.8 acre plot and also includes a four bedroom lodge currently used as the owner’s accommodation.
