Allington Manor (*****), near Grantham

Stunning Allington Manor is an unforgettable bed and breakfast in Allington, near Grantham in Lincolnshire. The 15th century Jacobean manor house is Grade II listed and has been sensitively restored with three rooms available for relaxing, romantic stays.

Each of the three rooms (the Lord’s Room, the Lady’s Room and the Garden Room) has been beautifully decorated with many period features retained. Each room has a different character but look out for touches like freestanding bath tubs and gorgeous antique furniture.

The Rest at St Michael’s, Lincoln

The Rest is brilliantly located on award-winning Steep Hill, the characterful road between Lincoln cathedral and the rest of the city which is as steep as the name suggests. And a rest is a welcome sight in more ways than one for those walking up this iconic thoroughfare which has a 14% gradient.

The beautifully appointed rooms at this boutique B&B are situated in distinct locations around the hotel; there’s the rooftop rooms, the hall rooms, garden rooms and the garden suite. At the heart of hotel is an attractive coffee house in a former church hall which is where you’ll be served breakfast.

Enjoying views of the castle from some rooms and the cathedral from others, the Castle Hotel on Westgate also has its own five star rated self catering apartment which sleeps up to four people. The Brackenborough (***), Louth

The 3* Brackenborough is a boutique hotel in Louth, at the edge of the Lincolnshire woods. The country house property, surrounded by landscaped gardens, has 24 rooms which are all individually styled and furnished. Oozing with relaxed charm, this hotel is located within a short distance of Cleethorpes, Skegness and Mablethorpe.

Longdales House (****), Lincoln

Longdales House is a stylish bed and breakfast situated on the edge of the Bishop Grosseteste University campus in Lincoln. The Victorian property is reputed to have been once been the home of the head of the college but now has been turned in to a tasteful and charming place to stay with single, twin and double rooms available.

The rooms are all well designed with the standout premier room boasting a beautiful 5′ four poster bed. Longdales House also offers a useful Wheelchair Access Twin room with large ensuite accessible bathroom.
