Boutique hotel in Mayfair gets planning permission

Westminster Council has given the green light to a new boutique hotel on Mayfair.

A grade-II listed former garage will be turned into a 75 bedroom hotel. The art deco building, owner by the Grosvenor Estate, at 8 Balderton Street was designed in 1926 and is currently in use by Avis car hire.

The new boutique hotel, just a short walk from Selfridges, will feature public art by Antony Gormley and is due to be complete by 2013.
