‘ME London’ confirmed to arrive in time for 2012 Olympics

A large new boutique hotel from Sol Melia has been confirmed for London in time for the Summer of 2012.

The international hotel group has purchased a new Norman Foster creation in the Holborn district which will offer 173 guestrooms and a large conference centre facility.

The new boutique hotel will be part of the ‘ME by Melia’ brand of hotels from Spanish-based, Sol Melia.

The building itself was formerly the City Bank building and is being redeveloped as a large hotel. The acquisition of the building was worth 133million euros to seller, Anida, and Sol Melia will be spending another 52 million euros completing the redevelopment project.
