Gregg’s Bar and Grill at Bermondsey Square to close

GREGG Wallace’s restaurant at a London boutique hotel is to close, it has been reported.

Gregg’s Bar & Grill at Bespoke Hotels’ Bermondsey Square Hotel will close later this year.  Wallace, famous for his role on Masterchef, opened the restaurant in February 2012 as Gregg’s Table before it was rebranded as Gregg’s Bar and Grill.

The Daily Mail reports a spokesmen for both Wallace and the hotel as saying:

“As was always the case and both parties had discussed over a month ago, the two-year agreement with Gregg Wallace at Bermondsey Square is coming to a natural end later this year. There is no change to this arrangement and any suggestion to the contrary would be entirely unfounded.”

The Bermondsey Square Hotel was the setting for Channel 4’s Hotel GB series in 2012.
