Boutique hotel operator sees revenues rise

An operator of six boutique hotels in central London has seen revenues jump despite the recession.

Firmdale Hotels posted a turnover of £54.1m for the year ending Jan 31st, according to a report in the Telegraph.

Firmdale operates The Haymarket Hotel, The Soho Hotel, The Covent Garden Hotel, Charlotte Street Hotel, Knightsbridge Hotel and Number Sixteen.

The company’s Finance Director, Malcolm Soden, told the Telegraph that the success was achieved by avoiding a discount strategy and instead “holding out for rate and then letting occupancy build”.
